Dr. Allee grew up in Huntington Beach, California. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and Master of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.  She received her medical school education from Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. After medical school, she returned to Orange County, California where she completed her graduate medical education in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine.  She is a diplomat of the American Medical Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult General Psychiatry.  Dr. Allee joined the faculty at University of California, Irvine where she served as Associate Professor in the department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.  As director of the Consult-Liaison service, she oversaw all psychiatric care on general medicine, surgical, intensive care, and specialty units, as well as the emergency department.  

 

 

She was awarded the Excellence in Clinical Teaching by the Office of Medical Education, UC Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Allee has experience providing psychiatric care in one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems. She served as core founding faculty for Kaiser Permanente’s Adult General Psychiatry residency program. During that time, she supervised the training of psychiatry residents in psychotherapy, outpatient psychiatric medication management, inpatient psychiatric care and emergency and consult liaison psychiatry. She is a certified Nia instructor, trained in DBT and holographic reprocessing, actively treating patients with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and is an avid proponent of humanistic medical. She is a tireless wellness advocate for her patients and is an expert in treating and preventing anxiety, depression and symptoms of burnout in high performing individuals.  She served as wellness psychiatrist for University of California School of Medicine – working directly with medical students from orientation through graduation.  She has served as medical director for integrated intensive psychotherapeutic programs including supportive housing, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming.

 

Most recently she dedicated herself to becoming a certified brain health specialist at the Amen Clinic in Costa Mesa – thereby adding expertise in brain imaging, nutritional medicine and the advanced use of natural supplements.  She loves weaving together medical, psychotherapeutic and neuropsychiatric approaches to provide specifically tailored care to each individual.  She is inspired by the hope and healing she sees when her patients discover their passion and purpose – heal, rediscover joy and find the confidence to live fully in the best of health.
